The most
important sponsors are you!
I am always deeply touched when a patient sends a small or large amount
of money with a little note of gratitude. I am even more touched when
we receive donations from families who have lost a beloved one due to
liver disease. It is particular this kind of donations which drives us
to become ever better in diagnosis and treatment. It means that we have
failed somebody and incites us to avoid such failures. Avoidance of
such failures requires research - which we are devoted to. In the
future, we would like to acknowledge special sponsors in this page. I
am very happy to present the first special sponsor:
- Kirsty McGlen arranged a sponsored hike in the
Bernese Oberleand around Kandersteg; the revenue
was given to the Foundation (Image
of the remittance). Thank you
so much, Ms McGlen!
Another important grou of sponsors are the professors of the institute
of clinical pharmacology. We are committed to public health and service
to all patients regardless of their income. We feel that we are fairly
compensanted for our services and therefore donate our income resulting
from clinical studies, consulting with the pharmaceutical industry,
fees from private patients etc. to the foundation.
The foundation and its council hereby acknowledges major educational
contributions from the pharmaceutical industry; both contributions
where 'no strings attached' for educational or research purposes:
- Essex AG
Luzern (Schering-Plough International)
for help in developping the Swiss School of Hepatology - an innovative
and popular tool for postgraduate education in Hepatology
- Hofmann-
LaRoche AG for supporting a study of non-invasive markers
of fibrosis.
