The vaccination against hepatitis B can prevent the world-wide most common form of hepatitis. It is also the first vaccine against cancer. For people who travel south, vaccination against hepatitis A is also recommended.
  • Hepatitis A: Recommended for travel to countries with low hygiene standards. Two injections one year appart provide life-long immunity. Highly recommended for patients affect with chronic liver disease, in particular hepatitis C
  • Hepatitis B: Recommended for teen-agers before they become sexually active (in high endemicity areas vaccination of neonates is recommended - which i would recommend). Mandatory for patients with hepatitis C and before organ transplantation.
  • Hepatitis C: Vaccine not yet available
  • Hepatitis Delta: Vaccination against B protects also against Delta.
  • Hepatitis E: Vaccine should reach the marked in the next years; recommended for travellers to Central- and South America, India and Northern Africa.

All these vaccines are efficient and safe.
